Doris Summit 2026Day 1 · Operating the Real-Time Data Foundation
Building a Real-Time Streaming Lakehouse with Apache Fluss and Apache Doris
Anton Borisov · Apache Fluss
About this session
Apache Fluss is rethinking how streaming data is stored, managed, and accessed in the modern lakehouse. Designed as a real-time streaming storage layer, Fluss brings together low-latency streaming, log and primary-key tables, and seamless integration with open lakehouse formats. In this session, we will explore the design philosophy behind Apache Fluss, its core architecture, and the real-world scenarios it aims to address. We will then look at how Fluss works with OLAP engines like Apache Doris to bridge streaming data and analytical workloads. Through the recent Apache Doris 5.0 integration, we will demonstrate how fresh data in Fluss and historical data in Apache Paimon can be queried together using SQL, enabling real-time analytics without complex data replication pipelines. Together, Apache Fluss and Apache Doris showcase how open-source communities can collaborate to build the next generation of Streaming Lakehouse architectures.
